Halfway There is a nice appetizer to the delicious feast that awaits Fool's Gold and Susan Mallery fans alike. With books 10-13 slated to arrive this summer, with the first at the end of May, Mallery wets our appetite with this enjoyable E-novella.Like most novellas, Halfway there is short. Mallery readers like myself shouldn't mind the length of the story. As a lover of Fool's Gold stories, I couldn't wait to read another story to jump back to a place Mallery has made more familiar then my own home town. For readers new to the Fools Gold series, it is okay to start with this one. Mallery is brilliant at reintroducing characters without it seeming like a history lesson or dragging on for pages.
Even if I wasn't crazy about the main character's name, Fayrene, I just fell in love with her. She and her sisters made the most of a rough adolescence, thus turing her into the determined "woman with a plan" person she is today. That is until she meets Ryan, a man with a plan of his own.
Ryan, like most newbies to Fool's Gold, (characters and readers a like) falls to its charms. And also to Fayrene's. The dialogue between the two is charming, witty and will make you smile.
Fool's Gold readers will also enjoying hearing from a few local residents, such as Ethan Hendrix and Charity Jones and Josh Golden. Mallery also introduces Fayrene's sisters, leaving me hoping she writes their stories as well.
Do I find this book too short? Well of course I do. But I find any Susan Mallery book too short - once I pick one up, I can't put it down. If you love Fool's Gold and are a fan of Susan Mallery, pick up this book. If you never have read any of her books, including this series, pick this one up. You won't be thrown in a town where you have no clue what's going on. And then start with Book 1, Chasing Perfect. You will not be disappointed.

Fayrene has her life all planned out and that does not include new comer Ryan. Ryan is an engineer, who is working in Fools Gold temporarily. Once he meets Fayrene, he thinks a casual relationship will be ok. Life never goes as planned.
It is nice to revisit Fools Gold again. Looking forward to the next three books in the series. You can read this book without the previous books in the series. You have won my heart again Susan.
As Usual I Loved Loved Loved it, and no matter the length of Susan's books I find myself sad when they end.
I fall in love with all her Characters, and many times WISH our family could live in Fool's Gold. I would love
having Female Friends like the women who live there.
Keep them coming Susan I will continue to read and tell everyone about you as an Author. By far one of
MY very Favorites.

This is the perfect Novella to get you started on the next series.. I enjoyed this little story Fayrene has a plan set and nothing is going to get in her way not even hotty Ryan. He is just there temporary because he has a job waiting for him so hey why not spend some time together. Anyone who is a fan of Fool's Gold knows it grows on you and so do the people. This makes for a romantic story of what happens when 2 people with plans get together because something's things change.
I read Halfway There in two sittings, and enjoyed it (although I have to admit, I've got a soft spot for cats and both the hero and heroine were cat lovers). The story involves a heroine who has no plans to settle down until she has her new business up and on its feet, so she takes up with an engineer who's in town temporarily, setting up wind turbines a source of clean energy. She thinks he's the perfect person to hook up with, since he's only around for a limited time and therefore their relationship will have a short "shelf life" - or so she thinks....
Susan Mallery has done it again! I was completely hooked from the beginning, I couldn't put it down! Fool's Gold is such a great town, I can just get lost in those books! This novella was Ryan and Fayrene' s Story! Ryan was a engineer, who was new to town, While Fayrene grew up their! Ryan only planned to stay for a short while and Fayrene had her own business and life planned for the next four years! Neither of their plans involved meeting someone! I can't wait for the next books about Fool's Gold!!
I love Susan Mallery. These two characters are sweet. I would have adored a longer story, but it is a novella and it did help with the wait for the next three books from fool's gold (the city in which this series takes place)
Reading Ryan, was like reading someone i knew, like scary how much this character reminded me of a real person in my life.
Fayrene is sweet and so beyond organized, i totally wish that i was more like her!!
Loved that Ethan Hendrix, Josh and Chrity Golden, and Eddie were part of this Novella!!!
The ending was sweet!

Susan Mallery has done it again. This is an amazing story. The characters jump off the page as Susan brings them to life.
What's a woman to do when she wants security and a successful business of her own? She makes a plan and decides love will just have to wait (for 4 years). But when one special man walks into her life and causes that tingle that won't go away, she decides that maybe just a short fling would be okay. He would be leaving town soon anyway...right?
A story that leaves you feeling good and believing in Happy Endings. I can't wait to revisit these characters in future Fool's Gold books. The next 3 Fool's Gold books Just One Kiss, Two of a Kind, and Three Little Words are on my mist read list.
